Mirai MPGe Questions

Which Mirai is the most efficient?

The 2021 to 2025 Mirai XLE has the top EPA rating at 74 MPGe combined (76 city, 71 highway). Among 2026 models, the Mirai is rated at 72 MPGe combined.

Why doesn't my Mirai match the EPA numbers?

EPA ratings come from standardized tests so every EV is measured the same way. Cold weather, heater and AC use, highway speed, tire pressure and cargo all change how far a Mirai goes on a charge. The ratings are best for comparing one model against another.

Where These Numbers Come From

This page was built by Cedrick Reese from the U.S. EPA fuel economy dataset on fueleconomy.gov, which holds 17 ratings for the Toyota Mirai from 2016 to 2026. Each row in the table links to the matching EPA vehicle record, so you can check any figure against the source. Hydrogen fuel cell versions are rated in MPGe and are left out of the cost calculator, since hydrogen is sold by the kilogram. The page is rebuilt whenever the EPA publishes an updated file, which picks up new model years and any rating corrections.

Ratings on this page come from the EPA file downloaded on October 1, 2026.
