Where These Numbers Come From

Cedrick Reese builds this directory straight from the EPA fuel economy dataset on fueleconomy.gov. The list of makes, the model counts and the ratings on every linked page are generated from that one file, and each vehicle page links back to the matching EPA records. When the EPA releases an updated file, the whole directory is rebuilt so new model years show up and corrected ratings replace old ones.
