Nissan LEAF MPGe and Range by Year
Here's the official EPA Nissan LEAF MPGe, kWh per 100 miles and range for every version from 2011 to 2026.
LEAF MPGe by Year and Version
There are 30 rated versions in all, measured in MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) and kWh per 100 miles. Pick a year to compare them.

Years When LEAF Efficiency Changed
The LEAF's ratings stay flat for long stretches. These are the model years where something changed enough to matter when you're comparing used ones.
- 2013: The best combined rating jumps from 99 to 115 MPGe.
- 2026: The best combined rating jumps from 111 to 121 MPGe.
What Does a LEAF Cost to Charge?
Pick a LEAF, then enter what you pay per kWh and how much you drive. The math uses the EPA city and highway kWh per 100 miles, weighted by how much of your driving happens in each.
LEAF MPGe Questions
Which LEAF is the most efficient?
The 2026 LEAF 75kWh (18 inch steel Wheels) has the top EPA rating at 121 MPGe combined (131 city, 111 highway).
What's the range of the 2026 LEAF?
The most efficient 2026 LEAF 75kWh (18 inch steel Wheels) is rated at 121 MPGe combined, which works out to 27.8 kWh per 100 miles. Its EPA range is 303 miles. Range across 2026 versions runs from 259 to 303 miles.
What does MPGe mean?
MPGe stands for miles per gallon equivalent. The EPA counts 33.7 kWh of electricity as one gallon of gasoline, so a rating of 121 MPGe means the 2026 LEAF 75kWh (18 inch steel Wheels) covers 121 miles on 33.7 kWh. kWh per 100 miles is the easier number for working out charging costs.
Why doesn't my LEAF match the EPA numbers?
EPA ratings come from standardized tests so every EV is measured the same way. Cold weather, heater and AC use, highway speed, tire pressure and cargo all change how far a LEAF goes on a charge. The ratings are best for comparing one model against another.

Where These Numbers Come From
Cedrick Reese built this page from the EPA fuel economy file published on fueleconomy.gov. It has 30 ratings for the LEAF from 2011 to 2026, and every one of them is shown in the table. Each row in the table links to the matching EPA vehicle record, so you can check any figure against the source. Electric versions are rated in MPGe, the EPA's miles-per-gallon equivalent, and the table also shows their official range. The page is rebuilt whenever the EPA publishes an updated file, which picks up new model years and any rating corrections. The cost calculator uses your electricity rate you enter rather than a national average, so the result fits where you live.
Ratings on this page come from the EPA file downloaded on October 1, 2026.
